Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced Business Analyst specializing in Payments and Mainframe environments to lead complex analysis, solution design, and migration projects. This role involves engaging with stakeholders at various levels, translating business needs into functional and technical specifications, and supporting large-scale data migrations supporting payment processing, card lifecycle management, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will leverage domain expertise about credit card processes, data management, and cloud technologies to deliver solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support enterprise growth.
Software Requirements
Required Software Proficiency:
Business analysis tools: Jira, Confluence — for requirements management, traceability, and documentation support
Data analysis and mapping tools supporting data migration and integration efforts
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) — for documentation, reporting, and stakeholder presentations
Knowledge of system and API specifications (REST, API documentation tools like Swagger or Postman) supporting integration projects
Cloud platform familiarity: AWS, Azure supporting cloud-based data migration and integration activities (preferred)
Preferred Software Skills:
Data visualization tools: Power BI, Tableau supporting reporting and dashboards
Business process modeling and workflow tools supporting process improvements
Overall Responsibilities
Manage and execute complex business analysis activities related to payment systems, card lifecycle, and data migration projects
Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders at all levels
Translate business needs into comprehensive functional and technical specifications supporting system design, migration, and operational improvements
Collaborate with technical teams, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure requirements are well-understood and achievable
Support data migration activities, schema design, and validation supporting compliance, audit, and operational needs
Conduct impact analysis, gap assessments, and risk mitigation planning supporting enterprise compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR)
Support process automation, workflows, and continuous improvement initiatives supporting operational resilience
Maintain high-quality documentation, including BRDs, FRDs, interface specs, and process diagrams
Assist in testing, UAT, and post-implementation support to ensure solutions meet business and compliance requirements

Experience Requirements
13 years of experience supporting payment systems, card processing workflows, or related enterprise environments
At least 4 years' experience delivering complex technical changes as a Business Analyst
Proven experience managing requirements, designing solutions, and supporting large-scale data and system migrations
Extensive domain knowledge related to card lifecycle management, payments, and compliance standards (PCI DSS, GDPR)
Demonstrated ability to translate complex business processes into clear specifications supporting operational and strategic objectives
Experience working in regulated environments or supporting compliance audits (preferred)
Day-to-Day Activities
Elicit, analyze, and document business and technical requirements supporting payment processing, card management, and migration projects
Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to develop detailed requirements, functional specs, and test plans
Support data migration, schema design, and operational validation activities supporting compliance and data integrity
Design and review workflows supporting card lifecycle, transaction processing, and settlement processes
Conduct impact analysis and risk assessments for process and system changes
Support solution validation, UAT, and documentation to ensure business and compliance standards are met
Participate in project planning, sprint reviews, and technical workshops supporting continuous improvement
Maintain comprehensive documentation supporting audit, operational, and transition activities
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent qualification
13 years supporting enterprise payments, card management, or related systems in regulated environments
Certifications: PCI DSS, business analysis certifications (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) support standards compliance (preferred)
Proven experience delivering large-scale data migrations, compliance projects, or card lifecycle enhancements supporting high data security standards
