Data Migration SME – SAP S/4HANA

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Migration Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the end-to-end SAP S/4HANA data migration workstream, from the Discover and Design phases through cutover and post-go-live stabilization. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data migration strategy, data quality management, SAP migration tools, ETL processes, and cross-functional stakeholder coordination to ensure accurate, compliant, and successful data migration.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end SAP S/4HANA data migration workstream across the Discover and Design phases.
• Define migration strategy, scope, governance, and cutover approaches aligned with business and program objectives.
• Manage the migration of master data, transactional data, and historical data from legacy systems to SAP S/4HANA.
• Lead data profiling, cleansing, harmonization, validation, and reconciliation activities to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Design and oversee migration solutions using SAP Migration Cockpit (LTMC/LTMOM), SAP Data Services, and other ETL tools.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, functional teams, and technical architects to define migration requirements, mapping rules, and transformation logic.
• Establish data migration standards, templates, controls, KPIs, and governance processes across migration objects.
• Plan and manage mock data loads, dress rehearsals, defect resolution, and cutover execution.
• Support post-go-live data stabilization and resolve migration-related issues.
• Lead onshore and offshore migration teams, including resource planning, risk management, and dependency tracking.
• Provide regular migration status reports, progress updates, and risk escalations to leadership.
• Ensure delivery milestones are met with high data accuracy, audit compliance, and business stakeholder sign-off before production deployment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong experience leading SAP S/4HANA data migration initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with data migration strategy, planning, execution, and governance.
• Experience migrating master data, transactional data, and historical data from legacy systems.
• Expertise in data profiling, cleansing, mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
• Experience with SAP Migration Cockpit, including LTMC/LTMOM, and SAP Data Services or other ETL tools.
• Strong understanding of data migration lifecycle activities, including mock loads, cutover, and post-go-live stabilization.
• Experience defining migration standards, templates, controls, KPIs, and data quality processes.
• Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders, SAP functional teams, and technical architects.
• Strong leadership experience managing cross-functional and onshore/offshore migration teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation and migration programs.
• Experience managing complex legacy-to-SAP data migration projects.
• Knowledge of data governance, audit controls, and enterprise data quality frameworks.
• Experience coordinating multiple migration objects and parallel workstreams.
• Experience with cutover planning, dress rehearsals, production deployment, and hypercare.
• Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
