Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced SAP Data Migration Lead/Consultant responsible for leading end-to-end SAP data migration initiatives for SAP S/4HANA implementations. The role requires strong expertise in SAP BODS, Migration Cockpit, LTMC/LTMOM, ETL design, data transformation, and migration execution, along with the ability to manage project delivery, stakeholders, and a technical team.
The candidate will work closely with business, functional, technical, and client teams to design and deliver scalable data migration solutions while ensuring project timelines, quality standards, and successful business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities A. Technical Responsibilities (60%) SAP Data Migration Delivery
- Lead end-to-end SAP data migration activities from SAP and non-SAP legacy systems into SAP S/4HANA on-premises environments.
- Design and implement migration strategies for both Master Data and Transactional Data across SAP functional areas.
- Develop migration solutions using SAP BODS, SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit, LTMC, and LTMOM.
- Define migration architecture, approach, data extraction strategy, transformation rules, and loading methodology.
- Perform source-to-target data mapping and define transformation logic in collaboration with business and functional teams.
- Prepare migration technical specifications, mapping documents, conversion rules, and reconciliation reports.
- Design ETL workflows, data flows, jobs, scripts, data stores, and formats using SAP Data Services 4.2.
- Identify data quality issues, perform analysis, recommend solutions, and ensure successful migration execution.
- Support mock migrations, testing cycles, cutover activities, and post-go-live stabilization.
SAP Functional & Technical Collaboration
- Work closely with SAP functional teams across business processes such as:
- Order to Cash (O2C)
- Source to Pay (S2P)
- Procure to Pay (P2P)
- Manufacturing to Supply Chain (M2S)
- Master Data Management
- Understand end-to-end SAP business processes and data dependencies across applications.
- Translate business requirements into effective technical migration solutions.
- Collaborate with ABAP teams for custom developments, extraction programs, and migration utilities.
B. People & Project Management Responsibilities (40%) Project Delivery Management
- Deliver SAP BODS/SAP S/4HANA migration projects within defined scope, timelines, and budgets.
- Own migration workstream planning, execution, milestones, risks, and dependencies.
- Prepare project plans, effort estimates, resource allocation plans, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to quality standards and delivery timelines.
- Track deliverables, manage priorities, and proactively resolve project issues.
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead and mentor a team of 5–7 SAP data migration consultants.
- Allocate tasks based on team capability, workload, and project priorities.
- Conduct technical reviews, provide guidance, and ensure delivery quality.
- Manage team utilization and resolve resource conflicts.
- Drive knowledge sharing and maintain best practices across the migration team.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, business stakeholders, functional teams, and technical teams.
- Conduct regular project status meetings and provide progress updates.
- Communicate risks, dependencies, issues, and mitigation plans effectively.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful migration outcomes.
- Build strong working relationships with business users and project stakeholders.
Must Have Skills & Experience Technical Skills
- 10–13 years of experience in SAP Data Migration projects.
- Strong experience in SAP S/4HANA data migration implementations with full lifecycle delivery.
- Hands-on experience with:
- SAP BODS / SAP Data Services 4.2
- SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit
- LTMC and LTMOM
- Minimum 2 end-to-end projects involving:
- SAP BODS migration, and/or
- SAP Migration Cockpit
- Strong understanding of ETL concepts and data migration frameworks.
- Experience designing:
