Job Description: Senior DevOps Engineer (Cloud Migration Specialist)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer on a Contract Basis to lead and execute a critical cloud migration project. The primary objective of this role is to seamlessly migrate our existing applications, services, and infrastructure from the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to Microsoft Azure.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of executing enterprise-level cloud-to-cloud migrations, ensuring minimal downtime, robust security, and optimized performance post-migration.

Key Responsibilities

• Migration Execution: Design, plan, and execute the migration strategy for applications, databases, and workloads from GCP to Microsoft Azure.

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Re-architect and translate existing GCP deployment scripts (Terraform, etc.) into Azure-native automation scripts.

• CI/CD Pipeline Adaptation: Reconfigure and optimize continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines to target Azure environments (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.).

• Security & Compliance: Ensure all migrated assets meet strict enterprise security standards, utilizing Azure IAM, Key Vault, and Network Security Groups.

• Testing & Validation: Conduct comprehensive pre- and post-migration testing to ensure data integrity, system performance, and zero application downtime.

• Documentation: Provide thorough architectural documentation, layout designs, and a clear runbook for the internal team post-contract.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience: 4+ years of dedicated DevOps experience, with at least one major cloud-to-cloud migration project completed (ideally GCP to Azure).

• GCP Expertise: Deep understanding of GCP components including Google Compute Engine, GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), Cloud SQL, IAM, and VPCs.

• Azure Expertise: Strong proficiency in Azure infrastructure, including Azure App Services, AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service), Azure SQL, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Networking.

• Automation Tools: Advanced proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.

• Containerization: Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes cluster management during cross-cloud shifts.

• Communication: Excellent technical communication and collaboration skills to coordinate smoothly with stakeholders and internal development teams.
