We are seeking a hands-on Test Data Developer with strong Qlik Data Integration / Qlik Replicate experience to support the delivery of enterprise test data solutions across multiple non-production environments.

 

This role is responsible for translating the Test Data Strategy into practical, repeatable data provisioning solutions. The successful candidate will design, build, maintain, and support Qlik-based replication and integration pipelines that deliver production-representative data into lower environments for testing purposes.

 

In addition to strategic delivery, the role will own a stream of business-as-usual (BAU) test data requests, including environment refreshes, dataset creation, defect resolution, and small enhancements. The individual will work under the guidance of the Technical Lead while managing day-to-day delivery independently.

 

 

What You'll Be Doing

Test Data Provisioning & Automation

  • Design and implement test data provisioning solutions using Qlik Replicate and related Qlik Data Integration tools.

  • Configure and support full-load and Change Data Capture (CDC) replication tasks.

  • Provision production-like data into non-production environments while maintaining data quality and integrity.

  • Build reusable and scalable data provisioning patterns across projects and environments.

  • Implement data filtering, subsetting, and transformation rules to ensure datasets are fit-for-purpose and appropriately sized.

  • Monitor replication performance, latency, completeness, and overall task health.

  • Troubleshoot replication failures, schema changes, connectivity issues, and source-to-target discrepancies.

Data Governance & Security

  • Apply agreed masking and obfuscation processes to sensitive and personal information.

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and environment management standards.

  • Maintain auditability and evidence of masking controls and provisioning activities.

  • Ensure no unapproved movement of production data into lower environments.

BAU Support

  • Manage a steady flow of test data requests, including:

    • Environment refreshes

    • One-off data extracts

    • Data defects

    • Small enhancements

    • User requests

  • Assess whether requests should be delivered via:

    • A tactical/manual solution; or

    • A reusable solution within the Qlik capability.

  • Provide impact assessments, effort estimates, status updates, and appropriate handover documentation.

  • Continuously identify opportunities to convert tactical fixes into sustainable platform-based solutions.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with:

    • Test Teams

    • Environment Management Teams

    • Database Administrators

    • Source System Owners

    • Security and Data Governance Teams

    • Technical Leads

  • Provide guidance to testing teams on data availability, readiness, refresh schedules, and coverage limitations.

  • Contribute to operational documentation, runbooks, standards, and reusable templates.

 

 

Essential Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with Qlik Replicate and/or Qlik Data Integration.

  • Strong SQL development and troubleshooting skills.

  • Experience working with one or more major database platforms:

    • SQL Server

    • Oracle

    • PostgreSQL

    • SAP

  • Experience configuring and supporting:

    • Full data loads

    • Change Data Capture (CDC)

    • Data replication pipelines

  • Experience supporting non-production environments and test data provisioning processes.

  • Understanding of data security, masking, obfuscation, and privacy requirements.

  • Ability to investigate and resolve data quality, replication, and integration issues.

Practical Experience

  • Environment refreshes and data provisioning.

  • Managing large data volumes.

  • Maintaining referential integrity across datasets.

  • Scheduling and automating recurring data refreshes.

  • Production support or BAU support within data environments.

  • Working independently within a technical delivery team.

Soft Skills

  • Test Data Management (TDM) tools.

  • Synthetic test data generation.

  • Data virtualisation solutions.

  • ETL or data integration development experience.

  • CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.

  • Agile delivery environments.

  • Exposure to enterprise banking, insurance, telecommunications, retail, or financial services environments.
