Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Migration Manager to lead and coordinate end-to-end migration activities as part of a large-scale cloud transformation programme within the insurance sector.

This role is critical to ensuring seamless execution of migration waves, acting as the central point of accountability for planning, coordination, execution, and post-migration support. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful cutovers with minimal disruption to business operations.


Key Responsibilities

Migration Planning & Coordination

  • Manage and oversee all cutover activities for servers within assigned migration groups
  • Collaborate with architecture and design teams to ensure sign-offs and resolve outstanding issues
  • Mobilise technical teams to develop detailed and structured cutover plans
  • Ensure completion of intake processes and initiation of server replication
  • Lead and coordinate cutover execution and post-migration hypercare activities
  • Facilitate and chair cutover planning sessions and execution calls

Cutover Plan Management

  • Review and validate cutover plans for accuracy, completeness, and feasibility
  • Ensure alignment between technical execution plans and approved architecture designs
  • Track dependencies, risks, and critical path items to ensure timely delivery

Stakeholder Engagement & Pre-Cutover Readiness

  • Engage with business and technical stakeholders to drive readiness across all migration activities
  • Ensure completion of key pre-cutover requirements, including:
    • Account provisioning
    • Active Directory (AD) configurations
    • Firewall requests and approvals
    • DNS submissions and processing
    • Infrastructure and environment readiness
  • Work closely with application teams to confirm application-level migration readiness

Reporting & Risk Management

  • Provide clear and consistent reporting on migration progress, including milestones and performance metrics
  • Monitor server cutover success rates and adherence to schedules
  • Identify, track, and escalate risks and issues impacting delivery
  • Develop mitigation strategies and maintain risk/issue registers
  • Maintain and update migration heatmaps and dashboards
  • Ensure all required sign-offs are obtained for cutover plans, execution, and hypercare completion

Hypercare & Post-Migration Support

  • Lead and support hypercare activities following migration
  • Coordinate issue resolution with technical teams to ensure stability
  • Ensure smooth handover to operational and support teams
  • Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement initiatives
