Data Integration Engineer

Position Overview: 

Build the connective tissue between healthcare systems, translating complex medical data (claims, payments, patient records) across diverse platforms using healthcare-standard protocols. Engineer data pipelines that ensure accuracy, compliance, and interoperability in the healthcare revenue cycle ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design and maintain data integration pipelines using Mirth Connect for healthcare system interoperability 
• Implement HL7 and FHIR standards for healthcare data exchange and claim processing 
• Architect healthcare data models and database schemas optimized for claim and payment processing 
• Write complex SQL for data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation 
• Ensure data pipelines maintain HIPAA compliance, PII protection, and healthcare data security standards 
• Troubleshoot data integrity issues, identify root causes, and implement preventive controls 
• Document data flows, integration architecture, and recovery procedures for operational support 
• Monitor integration performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize throughput for high-volume data processing 
• Collaborate with healthcare IT, revenue cycle, and development teams to understand integration requirements 
• Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and exception handling for mission-critical healthcare data 

Required Qualifications :

• Extensive professional experience in healthcare data integration and healthcare IT operations 
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex data transformation and healthcare data management 
• Hands-on expertise with Mirth Connect integration platform 
• Deep understanding of HL7 v2.x and FHIR standards for healthcare data exchange 
• Strong knowledge of healthcare RCM workflows, claim processing, and payment cycle 
• Experience with HIPAA compliance, data security, and healthcare data privacy standards 
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Healthcare RCM domain expertise or healthcare provider IT operations background 
• Experience with other healthcare integration platforms (Talend, MuleSoft, Zapier) 
• Knowledge of healthcare master data management and patient identity matching 
• Exposure to healthcare analytics and data warehouse architecture 
• Experience with healthcare APIs and web services integration 
• Familiarity with insurance claim standards and healthcare billing workflows
