About the role
We are looking for a data migration specialist who can help teams globally, starting to automate their core work processes. You’ll be heading automation projects for teams. You will be backed by BI-team, process mapping teams, system specialist and software developers.
You are a super user of MS Excel, Power Automate, Forms, MS Lists and usage of LLMs.
You will play an important part in moving teams from fragile, outdated Excel “complexes” toward structured and reliable solutions. This role is critical for reducing business risk, eliminating knowledge silos, and ensuring our data is properly anchored in secure, maintainable systems.
In the software development team, we focus on getting stuff done - not attending endless meetings. No Scrum rituals, no over-planning, just focus time, freedom, and ownership. You’ll have the space to get in the zone, the trust to own your day, and the chance to work side by side with developers and end-users (right here at the office). And yes - up to two days at home office is part of the deal.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with various teams globally, across Subsea Production Systems and help them get started automating their core work processes – usually centered around excel spreadsheets.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and software developers to design scalable solutions.
- Support development of solutions that will be handed over to the team.
- Ensure data integrity, traceability, and version control in data migration projects.
Required Competencies & Skills
- Problem-Solving: Ability to untangle undocumented, legacy Excel files and re-engineer them into maintainable solutions.
- Knows how to work small and come up with possible solutions fast, iterating and learning together with the end-users.
- Communicate technical findings into clear guidance for non-technical users.
- Excel and other Microsoft tools (VBA, Forms, OneDrive, SharePoint,..).
- Prompt Writing (for ChatGPT and other AI tools).
- Power Automate.
- Power BI.
- Can-do attitude.
- Communication and stakeholder management – making sure end-users and leaders experience you are there to help – keeping them in the iterative development loop.
- Always ready to learn about different tasks and processes.
- Good at scheduling and prioritizing.
- Good at working on different tasks at the same time (but controlling your WIP).
- Good listener and good at asking questions to understand the problems.
- Pragmatic, curious, and end-user centric.
- Thrives in messy, complex environments where documentation is scarce.
- Able to bridge “old-school Excel” with modern database and analytics tools.
- Comfortable challenging existing processes and proposing smarter solutions to managers and employees.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Scripting Languages: Python (preferred) or equivalent for data processing.
- Database Knowledge: SQL (queries, stored procedures, schema design basics).
- Data Integration Tools: Power BI or similar.
- Version Control: Git or GitHub for managing scripts and code.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS, Snowflake).
- Familiarity with APIs for pulling/pushing data.
- Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.
- Experience in industrial/manufacturing contexts with tacit knowledge challenges.
