Functional / Data Analyst – Legacy & Data Migration

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Functional / Data Analyst to support the modernization of legacy and mainframe-based systems. The role focuses on analyzing existing applications, data structures and business processes and translating them into modern data models, functional processes and integration concepts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze legacy/mainframe applications, data structures, data flows and business processes.
  • Document business logic, data definitions, dependencies and functional requirements.
  • Perform data mapping, impact analysis and semantic modelling.
  • Translate legacy requirements into modern functional processes, data models and integration concepts.
  • Contribute to the development of ontologies and semantic models.
  • Analyze and exploit logging, audit trails and data-query information.
  • Support the migration of applications, processes and data to modern platforms.
  • Validate migrated processes and data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate with business users, architects, developers, DBAs, security specialists and project managers.
  • Facilitate workshops with domain experts and document outcomes.

Requirements

  • Expert experience in Business Analysis and Functional Analysis.
  • Strong experience with data modelling, semantic modelling, data mapping and impact analysis.
  • Experience analyzing legacy/mainframe environments.
  • Experience with application, process and data migration.
  • Knowledge of ontologies and semantic models.
  • Experience analyzing logging, audit trails and operational data.
  • Strong documentation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to bridge business, data, architecture and technology.
  • Dutch, French and English proficiency.

  • Workload: Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Location: Brussels
  • Work model: Hybrid – minimum 2 days per week onsite
