Introduction

An organisation is seeking a Data Migration Specialist to coordinate and manage data migration activities between current and new operating systems.

This role focuses on data governance, data quality, data migration, validation, and reporting across both facility and corporate environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring data accuracy, consistency, integrity, and compliance throughout the migration lifecycle while working closely with project teams and business stakeholders to support a smooth system transition.

Duties & Responsibilities

Data Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure data migration activities align with organisational policies and regulatory standards.
  • Enforce data stewardship practices to maintain data accuracy, accountability, and consistency.
  • Support governance requirements related to data quality and integrity.

Data Mapping & Transformation

  • Validate, cleanse, and standardise data prior to migration.
  • Define and maintain mapping between legacy and new system structures.
  • Transform and prepare data to align with target system requirements.

Testing & Validation

  • Conduct pre- and post-migration quality assurance checks.
  • Validate migrated data to ensure integrity and accuracy.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities related to migrated data.

Data Quality & Integrity

  • Perform data validation, cleansing, and quality assurance activities.
  • Ensure consistency and reliability of migrated data.
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues throughout the migration process.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with project teams and business units to support migration activities.
  • Assist stakeholders during migration and post-go-live activities.
  • Address migration-related concerns and support a smooth transition process.

Continuous Improvement & Post Go-Live Support

  • Support ongoing data optimisation initiatives.
  • Assist with enhancements related to data management and reporting processes.
  • Provide post-go-live support relating to migrated data.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

  • Certification in Data Management or a related field
    OR
    3–5 years of hands-on data migration experience, preferably within SAP environments.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience working on data migration projects.
  • Strong experience working with data extraction, mapping, and transformation processes.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of data quality, validation, and cleansing techniques.
  • Understanding of Data Governance concepts and requirements.

Advantageous

  • Data Management / Data Stewardship qualification.
  • SQL, data management, and database management experience.
  • Experience within healthcare environments.
  • Exposure to SAP environments.
